Metal Injection Molding (MIM) combines the shape and
design flexibility of thermoplastic injection molding with the
mechanical properties of high performance powder metals, which
makes metal injection molding a cost-effective solution for a
variety of industries
Typical
applications include: Communications- hinges and antenna seats
in cellular phones, fiber optic connectors, and crimp tools.
Computer- hinges, logos, cams, linkage parts, battery caps, and
locks. Hand tools (handtools) - locking clips, nail gun plates,
gears, ratchets, and knobs. Medical devices- biopsy tools,
forceps, surgical scissors, knife (knives). Others- small gears
in toy cars, orthodontic tooth alignment parts, watch bands and
cases, sights, triggers and guards in rifles.
